I find that the fabric on her sleeves and socks is odd looking. Something about the shading on them is just not quite right....
its almost as if they have an entirely different light source for themselves ne?
other than that, this is a very fine pic, but maybe it would be spiced up if you had a sharp light source. Eg. if you look at hyung tae-kim (sp? you know who i'm talking about though right?)...his people almost always have this thin highlight running along one side of them. It really gives the people that much more.
but still, this is very nice, and I really like it. her pose is really dynamic, and her hammer amuses me XD

Why on earth would anyone partake in action that only makes them miserable? Why on earth do so many people do it anyways?

HTK's style is actually what I was using as a basis for this, and then trying to make it my own. I did add highlights along the shadowed sides, but I don't think they're strong enough. I agree with you about the sleeve/socks--those and the poofy sleeves are the only parts I don't like as much. I should have textured the socks etc more, to set them apart a bit--maybe then it wouldn't look so weird? because they're actually supposed to be a rougher fabric than the rest of her outfit >.> but the light should be coming from the top left, with a backlight for the highlights, so I don't know how to shade them differently... @.@

Thank you! And the design in the bg is a single brush that I picked up somewhere--there's tons out there like that, that can do really cool things if you just use them as a stamp, and don't actually brush with them. xD
